Our History
Papastavros' Associates Medical Imaging has proudly served the imaging needs of Delaware residents for more than 50 years. In that time, we've grown to provide a comprehensive range of the latest imaging technology at multiple full-service imaging centers, plus a number of convenient walk-in X-ray centers throughout Delaware.
Christos Stavros Papastavros, M.D., founded Papastavros' Associates in 1958. He began his practice with one small office and several simple ideas, focusing on quality patient care and service to the community. As the practice grew, new techniques were added.
Papastavros' Associates was the first to introduce CAT scanning, single-photon emission-computed tomography, and MR imaging to the state of Delaware, reflecting a dedication to advanced imaging. Three managing partners, Garth Koniver, M.D., Thomas Fiss, M.D., and Majid Mansoory, M.D., sustained the strong foundation and ideas set forth by Dr. Papastavros after his retirement in 1987. They have continued his legacy through their focus on quality patient care and providing high-quality diagnostic imaging.

Today Papastavros’ is partnered with RadNet, Inc., a national leader in diagnostic imaging. With this partnership, Papastavros’ is affiliated with more than 160 centers in California, New York, Maryland, Florida, Delaware, and Kansas.
